Preparing for Your Newborn Mini-Session
Hello! We are so glad you're here. Congratulations on your new little wonder. We can't wait to create images that your family will treasure forever. Here are some quick tips to help you feel prepared for your newborn mini-session.
Our newborn mini-sessions are abbreviated sessions photographed in our studio in Eliot, Maine. We work in beautiful, natural, muted tones using our high quality wraps, fabrics, and knitted props. If you have special requests or would like parent, sibling, or family poses, a full newborn session is the better fit for you.
Before You Leave the House
Feed your baby as close to your departure time as possible. A full belly is your best friend on session day.
Give your baby as much awake time as you can before you head out. We know that sounds counterintuitive but a tired baby falls into a deep, beautiful sleep, which is exactly what we need for the best images. Here are a few ways to keep them alert before you go: give them a bath, let them kick around in just a diaper, tickle their toes, or even let them fuss a little. They will probably drift off on the car ride over and arrive perfectly ready for us.
Dress your baby in something easy to get out of. We will be undressing them when you arrive.
Nursing moms: avoid foods that can cause gasiness for 24 hours before your session.
What to Bring
-
Diapers and wipes
-
Bottles, nursing supplies, or anything you need to feed baby during the session
-
A soothie pacifier if you have one. The round greenish style is ideal because it does not leave marks on baby's face. Even if your baby does not typically use a pacifier, it can be very helpful during posing.
-
A baby brush or comb if your little one has hair, even just a little bit
-
A clean pair of shoes/slippers (for yourself). We keep outdoor shoes out of our shooting space.
-
You do not need to bring any clothing for baby. We will wrap them in our own beautiful fabrics and knitted items.

Your Mini-Session
Your session will take approximately 30 minutes. Your baby will be wrapped and posed in our studio using our fabrics, wraps, and props. You can see examples of what to expect here.
Please note that newborn mini-sessions are baby-only. We do not include parent, sibling, or family poses during mini-sessions. If you would like those images, we would love to book you for a full newborn session instead.
We ask that siblings stay home for this one if at all possible. We completely understand that is not always easy and we love kids, but our studio is not a childproof environment and keeping the space calm makes a real difference for your baby and for the images we are able to create.
After Your Session
Within 24 hours: we will post a sneak peek on Facebook and Instagram. Feel free to tag yourself or share it to your profile. Let us know at booking if you would prefer we skip the sneak peek.
Within 14 days: you will receive a link to your private gallery of 8 fully edited digital images, delivered via digital download with a print release included.
Gallery window: your gallery will be open for one week. We strongly recommend making a backup copy of your images as soon as you download them.

Meet Cathi
Hi, I am Cathi, and I will be your photographer.
People tell me no one stays a stranger for long around me, and I think that is probably true. I am a mom of three and a grandmother many times over, so I know exactly how fast this season goes and how much it means to have beautiful images to hold onto.
Our newborn suite is my happy place. It is warm, calm, and stocked with more wraps, fabrics, and props than I probably need, but I cannot stop collecting them because I genuinely love this work. I invest in my craft constantly and I show up to every session committed to doing it at the highest level.
Your baby is in good hands. I cannot wait to meet them.
