preparing for your newborn mini-session
Hello! We are so glad you're here. Congratulations on welcoming a new little wonder into the world. We can't wait to create images that will adorn your family's albums and walls forever. Here are some quick tips to help you feel prepared for your newborn mini-session.
Sarah, Ivy, & Cathi are our newborn photography artists. We typically work in beautiful, natural and muted tones, please review our work here. Our newborn mini-sessions are abbreviated sessions and this limits our ability to use items from your home. If you have special image requests, you may wish to book a full newborn session instead.
Please give your baby a full feeding prior to leaving for your session. Then dress your baby in something easy to get out of. It's important to give your baby lots of awake-time before your session. We know this can be difficult and we don't want you to stress over it, here are some ideas: give them a bath, let them kick in just a diaper, tickle toes, even let them fuss a bit. Your baby will probably get into a good sleep on the car ride to the studio.
Nursing moms should avoid eating foods that can cause gasiness 24 hours prior to the session.
What to bring: a soothie pacifier (if possible, the round greenish one that won't leave marks on the baby's face). If your baby has a pacifier they like, bring that one. Even if they don't typically use a pacifier, it can really help while we are posing them.. Bring any items you need to feed/nurse baby during your session.
You do not need to bring any clothing for your baby, we will be wrapping them in our fabrics and using our studio's vast array of beautiful knitted items.
Please note that we do not take parent or sibling shots during our newborn MINI sessions. If you wish to have parent, family, or sibling poses, please opt for a full newborn session instead.
Please try to arrange for siblings to stay home. We recognize that there are circumstances where this isn't possible, and we LOVE kids! However being quiet in a confined area is a lot to ask of any child. Please be aware that the studio is not a childproof environment where they can run around.
Your baby will be wrapped in our beautiful fabric wraps during the session. You can see the type of images you can expect from your session here
After your session we typically post a "sneak peek" on Facebook (unless you specify that you don't want one), within 24 hours. Feel free to tag yourself in your picture or share it to your profile. You'll receive a link to your gallery of images within 14 days, which you will have 5 days to download. We recommend making a backup copy of your images.
