A professional headshot is an actual photograph of you. An AI-generated headshot takes photos you upload and runs them through a generative model that reconstructs your face inside a synthetic, computer-generated image, smoothing features, inventing lighting, and creating a background that never existed. People can often tell the difference, and in professional settings, that distinction matters more than people expect.

Wear whatever represents your best professional self. A few things that photograph well: layers and anything in your brand colors. A few things to think twice about: sleeveless tops unless you specifically want to show off your arms, anything too casual, and anything you would not wear to an important meeting. The goal is to look like the best version of yourself.
